John Atkin BA (Hons), LLB (Hons), Director
John Atkin joined Trust in January 2009 from Blake Dawson where he was Managing Partner for 6 years.
With over 25 years experience in the management of professional service firms, and extensive experience in strategy development and execution, John is responsible for enhancing the strong position Trust occupies in the market and building on its significant record of achievement since its establishment in 1885. Excellence in client service built on great teamwork and world class expertise and systems will be the foundation of Trust’s continuing success under John’s leadership.
John holds professional memberships with the International Bar Association, Law Council of Australia, Law Society of New South Wales, Australian Institute of Directors, St James Ethics Centre and the Sydney Institute.
John is a director of The Australian Outward Bound Foundation.
David Grbin B.Ec (Hons), CA, Director
David Grbin joined Trust as a consultant in February 2008 before being appointed Executive General Manager for Finance, Legal, Risk and IT in July 2008.
David is Trust's Chief Financial Officer and is also responsible for leading strategy and operations for the Legal, Risk and IT areas of the business.
With more than eight years experience as CFO of a listed company, David has been responsible for increasing shareholder value and establishing key relationships with stakeholders in debt and equity capital markets. He has held a number of Financial and Commercial management positions with Adsteam Marine Limited, The Adelaide Steamship Company Limited and has worked as an auditor for Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.
David holds a Bachelor of Economics with Honours from the University of Adelaide and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1989.
Andrew Cannane, Director
Andrew is responsible for our business development activities throughout Australia. Formerly the CEO of The Trust Company in Singapore, he also leads the strategic direction of The Trust Company’s international business.
Having worked in wealth management, financial markets and retail banking in Australia, Singapore and the UK for over 15 years, Andrew understands the importance of collaborating with all interested parties to ensure a successful outcome for our clients.
A graduate of the Australian Graduate School of Management, Andrew holds a Master of Business Administration (Executive), a Bachelor of Economics from Sydney University and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA). He currently sits on the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association’s (APREA) Australian Chapter Board, the Financial Services Council’s Global Markets Committee and the Property Council of Australia’s (PCA) Unlisted Property Roundtable.
